Have you been looking for a kids toothpaste that is so good your children will WANT to brush their teeth? Now how about one that is loaded with natural effective ingredients instead of all the artificial junk found in most kids toothpaste?
We tried out a really effective herbal all natural toothpaste made by Vita-Myr awhile back and we loved it - the only problem was one of the main ingredients was clove. Clove is a very effective antibacterial and anti-inflammatory which is great for gum health, however it does have a strong taste - our 4 year old thought it was too "spicy".
Is there a Natural Kids Toothpaste that kids will like?
Alas, back to the gunky un-natural kids toothpaste.... but not long after we wrote up a review for the Vita-Myr Zinc Plus toothpaste - we received a surprise from the fine folks at Vita-Myr - a couple tubes of their Natural Orange Flavor Children's Xylitol toothpaste. It has the same beneficial ingredients as the Zinc Plus toothpaste along with Xylitol which is a proven powerful cavity fighter and antioxidant - it even has clove. But with the nice subtle orange flavor you'd never know - and your kids won't either.
Teeth brushing success a Natural Kids Toothpaste that tastes good
Proof in point... when I brushed our 18 month old's teeth with the Vita-Myr Children's Xylitol toothpaste the first word out of her mouth was More! (and she wasn't a big talker at the time so it must have been good)
She now loves brushing her teeth - and I love knowing that Vita-Myr natural kids toothpaste contains no harmful chemicals, fluoride, artificial sweeteners or colors - not to mention this toothpaste is so effective at removing teeth scum it makes them squeak.

Thanks for the review. I want to check this out as a possibility to recommend to parents who are trying to make the switch to all natural hygiene products.
Hi Dr. Josh thanks for stopping by, yes please do look into it – after reading the story of the Vita-Myr creators and the testimonials from people who have healed their periodontal disease and other dental issues we had to give it a try.
I enjoyed your video on making sweet potato fries – we love them too. You have an interesting healthy blend of seasonings as well I’ll have to try the Cinnamon next time.

I use raw coconut oil and peppermint and tee tree essential oils. It taste good and will make a year or two supply of toothpaste. Three ingredients and super affordable – can’t beat that.
Great easy recipe Tina – the beauty of it is that you can mix it up every once in awhile and throw in some clove oil or other antibacterial/antiviral essential oils. I’m not an expert on essential oils, but I’ve read that tea tree oil shouldn’t be ingested so I wonder why so many toothpastes contain tea tree oil? (it does have antiseptic, antibacterial and antiviral properties) I guess make sure you don’t eat too much toothpaste.

Premier Educator of Leaders in Natural Health
The Natural Health field is growing at a phenomenal rate throughout the world. And millions of Americans — aware of the detrimental effects of drug-based western medicine — are joining health oriented people around the globe in embracing an alternative natural approach. Encompassing the core building blocks of all living organisms, an holistic lifestyle promotes the building, repair, and maintenance of health.
So true, and it is encouraging to see the growing awareness even dare I say among large corporations who are jumping on the organic natural health bandwagon because of consumer demand. We have a long way to go to “fix” the food we are are sold and the products we use, but there has been some improvement.

we have been looking for toothpaste that can replace our commercial brands and alas with a refreshing mint taste and all natural. So I’ll check this one out if its work for my familys oral needs.

Thanks for the tip. I switched to natural toothpaste a few months back, and love it. Always trying new and different brands of natural toothpaste now, and will definately give this one a go too. I ran out of my organic toothpaste and had to use regular for a few days last week – disgusting! Tasted so chemically and awful – was so pleased when my natural toothpaste arrived in the post!

Looking nice toothpaste for children ‘s teeth and gum because natural products have very unpredictable results.
Yes that is frustratingly true, some natural products just don’t live up to the hype (true of “regular” products as well). And to make it even harder to find a natural toothpaste that works they tend to have different results for different people. The Vita-Myr works great for me, yet it may not work for everyone the same because we all have different enzymes and tooth hardness – but give it a try hopefully you’ll be one of the one’s it works great for.

Too much fluoride can destroy the teeth specially kids. That’s why I use kid’s toothpaste for my daughter which is mild.
I like the idea of this but the price seems a tad high but i guess you cant have it both ways, clean healthy teeth with higher priced toothpaste or lower price for artificial ingredients.

Yeah unfortunately that’s the name of the game with most “good for you” products they can charge a premium, but I’m sure part of that higher cost is the good ingredients that go into it are more expensive so I guess the ‘ol cliche is true – you get what you pay for.

Toothpaste just provides small abrasive particles to help remove plaque. It is not needed if you brush the correct way and for the right amount of time. Most toothpaste also contain fluoride.

You may be right in some regards – plus I think flossing is actually more important than brushing because it is those stuck on food particles that lead to problems. I do have to say though that the ingredients in Vita-Myr do help that cleaning and disinfecting process along because of the properties in the herbs. You also bring up a highly contested debate by mentioning fluoride – many people would say that too much fluoride is a bad thing…

Thanks to toothpaste manufacturers like this one, kids can be convinced to brush their teeth. They can relish the experience and look forward to this habit after eating.
I really didn’t think that there was anything junk or unhealthy in kids toothpaste. My daughter uses a Hello kitty branded toothpaste that she loves the taste of, but I think I will be looking for some of the natural toothpastes that you recommend in your post. I hope they’re available in the UK

I’m always surprised by what kinds of extra junk they put in products – even kids toothpaste – even just the extra sweeteners they use so kids like it better isn’t really necessary. We are trying another natural kids toothpaste right now from Toms that is supposed to be natural but it has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which isn’t very good for you. So even with natural products you have to watch so they don’t sneak something by you.

Nowadays, it’s very hard to find toothpaste that can be used by kids that may help prevent dental caries. I may say that the best way to choose different kinds of toothpaste to be use for your child is consulting your child’s dentist because they are the one’s who takes care of your child’s health.
